 The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF) is a global union federation of transport workers' trade unions.

Our HQ is in London with International offices include Amman, Hong Kong, Nairobi, Montreal, New Delhi, Ouagadougou, Rio, Tokyo, Singapore, and Sydney.

Purpose

The ITF constitution sets out the following aims:

Translation Project Specialist - 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) is looking for a Translation Project Specialist (C1) to be based in London and to start as soon as possible for a 9 month maternity cover fixed term contract.

About the role

This is an interesting and challenging opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a busy environment coordinating the translation of ITF materials and providing overall languages support for ITF projects and activities.

About you

The sucessful candidate will have strong coordination and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise while handling multiple projects simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment. /p>

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential together with full command of Spanish.The candidate should also feel confident using SDL Trados as well as desk top publishing programmes (InDesign). Basic knowledge of Content Management Systems for uploading web text would be an advantage.

Salary and Benefits

Excellent conditions accompany a salary of 39,167.000 plus an annual bonus of £3,263.92. Annual leave will be 16.5 days for the duration of the contract. Other details of the conditions applicable are available on request.

It is anticipated that interviews for this position will take place in London the week commencing either 4 or 11 February 2019.

                             The Director of Global Campaigns

About the role

The Director of Global Campaigns will play a fundamental role in leading campaigns and projects across the globe, on behalf of the ITF.

At the direction of the General Secretary and Executive Board, the Director of Global Campaigns will manage campaign strategies to maximise external targets and efficiencies as well as establish appropriate campaign methodologies and processes to ensure consistency across the organisation.

This role will have accountability for the management of relevant campaign staff, as well as budgeting and planning for all cross-sectorial campaigns. The job description is attached here.

About you

The mission and values of the ITF are of utmost importance and as such, the successful candidate for this role must hold high ethical standards, displaying diligence and integrity when representing the organisation.

We are looking for a purpose-driven individual with significant experience of effective leadership at a senior management level, including developing and leading key organisational campaign strategies within a national trade union. This person must have a strong member/customer focused approach to service delivery and be able to demonstrate strategic thinking which resulted in successful organisational change. The role requires someone who has the ability to work effectively in a political environment, and who can effectively build relationships, displaying strong collaborative and influencing skills.

The Director of Global Campaigns will be expected to undertake regular international travel and must be able to work flexibly including during out of office hours.

Salary and Benefits

This role will offer a competitive salary, dependent on experience.  ITF also offers an attractive non-performance-related guaranteed bonus equating to 1/12th of your annual salary.
